Tips To Create A Powerful Video Strategy

Conceptavision video course video strategy

It’s all very well and good to shoot video content, do a brief edit and stick it up online and hope it gets seen by your target audience. However, by adopting a strategic mindset your video content will have a greater chance of success. This week we share a few practical tips to get you thinking about your video content with a focus on broader goals. This will enable you to plan for success from the very beginning.

Tip 1. Use A Briefing Document

Once you have an idea for a video you wish to make, use a briefing document to ask yourself lots of questions and note your ideas down. It’s best to do this before you shoot any footage, because your ideas may change.  Here is a link to our briefing document, as an example. The questions in the document will get you thinking about the project in more detail and help you think more strategically. Send us an email if you would like a PDF copy of the document.

Tip 2. Timing And Regularity

Think about how often  you want to connect with your audience with video content. Do you want to share one video per week? One video per month? One per day. Consider this what is realistic for you, and plan a schedule for when you will shoot, edit and publish your videos.

Tip 3. Duration

When producing videos, it’s generally best to aim for shorter durations. Durations of 1-2 minutes tend to work well. Consider producing several shorter videos rather than one long video. Think about this when planning your video shoot – you could shoot the footage for several videos in one sitting.
