Framing Health Documentary: Learning Through Stop Motion

Client

The Rabbitoh’s Souths Cares in partnership with the University of Sydney.

Brief

To produce a short-form documentary piece about this program we worked on with the University. We ran a series of workshops teaching school children and school teachers how to write and produce their own stop-motion animated films about a health topic relevant to them.

Audience

Potential program participants and current and former program participants.

Solution

We utilised a range of techniques to produce an engaging micro-documentary, including: time-lapse footage, thoughtful interviews with participants, and close-up footage of the work as it was being made.

Result

The client was very happy with the final product, and utilised the documentary to successfully promote the program to potential future participants. As a result of the workshops themselves, the participants reported learning a lot of new skills in storyboarding, filmmaking, production and team work.
