ANIMATED EXPLAINER: INVENTORY COSTING METHODS

Animation

Client

An accounting lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

Brief

To produce a video to explain the various methods that may be used to cost inventory, and the impact of those choices on a business’ bottom line.

Audience

First year students enrolled in accounting subjects at the university.

Solution

We collaborated closely with the lecturer to work through her draft storyboard, providing various options to illustrate the concepts using animation. We settled on this hand-drawn style, and incorporated movement to best illustrate how the methods work in practice. We also incorporated background music and foley (sound effects) to add more impact to the video.

Result

The client was very happy with the final video, and it will be used in the years to come as a resource for entry-level university students taking accounting subjects.
